So, it's snowing outside. No, not that just a small brush of it... we're talking about snow, as in "Oh shit, this could be a problem..."

Ok, so I took this pic like... around 9:15, a little bit after I woke up. I thought, huh, alright... nothing substantial.

lots of photos...of SNOW. )

I think that...the weather people kinda messed up on this. Like, they said just 1 inch or something and it turns out to be a lot more than what it should've been. I'm gonna hazard a guess that we probably got about 4 inches, and more on the way. I'm hoping there'll be cancellations for tomorrow, because this stuff is actually sticking to the roads now, and it's supposed to be like around 25degrees -- more than enough to freeze the roads. And you know how the South can't handle such weather like this, oh no. And if there isn't

The 'rents came home not long ago, and said that we probably did get a lot more -- in Monty, the ground was barely covered, well, compared to here.

I can't remember the last time I saw substantial snow... maybe back when I was in Louisiana, and we had like two icestorms in a month for two years.

I'm gonna call the first of March, the day freaky weather will happen. Two years ago, it was tornadoes. Hell, yesterday, we were in tornadic weather -- apparently I slept through a tornado. It was round 9 when I woke up to thunder, and Poppy called and told me that a tornado was heading my way and that shit got damaged in Auburn (ie, not that far, and my uni) like, cars got flipped over. Of course, I just vacated to the laundry room (clear cross the house...) and stayed there for about 30 mintues. I didn't hear any sirens, or that I slept through them I guess. I think I would've been good, considering I had thick covers over me.

And there was flash flooding -- when I went out to get supplies to cook hamburger helper -- and I thought 'holy shit this water' it was barely under the bridge, and the fact I had to cross two low bridges, and the river bridge was kinda scary. I think... we got 4-5 inches of rain in like 2ish days, and then snow...

Seriously though, I haven't been this excited about weather like this -- AND the chance of it actually happening and exceeding expectations?

Thank you Mother Nature, for not bullshittin' this time.

Here's a tip: Do not, under any circumstance, name anything after my grandmother. Take for instance, Tropical Storm Fay, who just left officially about two days ago; pretty much wrecked shit, drove everyone crazy (I feel bad for those Florida people), stayed beyond the... normal time (what, 72hours? Let's go with that)...

The cosmic irony of this, is that she isn't dead. Nope. FAR from it. And she does all of the things I've said above. Yep.

It rained for like... forever. We got about eight or so inches off of it, but no bad flooding. It was just - thankfully - steady rain. Of course, it drove me up the wall simply because I haven't been out of the house all that week prior to, and I may have that season depression disorder. Long story short, I was bummed the hell out.

Don't even get me started on the sirens and tornado warnings. We were in it for about 3 days straight. Sure, I have paranoia from that considering some years ago in Kansas, we were in constant warnings; we slept in the closet. That morning, wrecked shit everywhere. Me and moppy were fine. Anyway, I was paranoid the first two times... and since I'd figured out it was nowhere near us... I just stopped caring. Plus, you tend to ignore it 3am in the morning...  check the weather, see if its anywhere near, and go back to whatever the hell I was doing. Which was, at that point, watching the gold medal match in basketball. Great stuff; but being hyped that late in the night/early in the morning... wasn't a good thing.

So, it must be that time of year for Mother Nature, and now the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico is now primed. Gustav, I have no idea where that is going but it looks like a straightshot for Louisiana, and sippind from the Gulf. It's like Katrina part Deux, it's scary. If I were still living there, I would be calling folks and tell them where I'm headed, pack up all the shit I can stuff in my itty bitty car (re: it's pretty spacious once put down the back seat. YAY 5 DOOR) and just haul ass. I don't care if it's not heading directly towards me, I would still do all of that and haul ass. None of this "Ride It Out" bullshit, no sir. Of course, living *far* into Alabama and away from ocean does help, but Ivan back in ...what 2005? Yeah, we just had like a shitload of wind and nothing was damaged... coupla branches fell in the back yard. No trees or anything.

And then Hannah comes into the picture. I'm not sure what's going on with that.

In short: Living on the East Coast sucks this time of year. But, we don't have to worry about fires, tornadoes (sometimes), blizzards (well, 93...) dust devils, earthquakes (oh wait...)...uhm, that's about it?

*shrug*

Well that was my poor attempt of a japanese title.

Spring break is in two weeks, and I seriously can't wait. The weather is warm (but not humid), things are coming alive again... the sakura trees are blossoming... I'm getting real flighty. It's like, 'Oh, it's spring, time to frolic in the grass and pick wildflowers without a care in the world!' Shit, I wish. Having the swing set up in the backyard seriously doesn't help at all. And, there's no dip in temps soon. In fact, it's supposed to be around 80 something AGAIN tomorrow and the rest of the week. Maybe I should start writing outside in the fresh spring air. Y'now, not holed up in the library. Besides, the couches kinda hurt my bum.

I want to write but... there's so many things I want to do. Most of it which will seriously get ahead of myself. It's bad enough I already wrote the beginning and the ending of Chapter... 22? I forget which, but still. It's extremely spoilerish, so I won't post it until the time comes. Another thing I wanted to do, is start out Epsilon with someone telling the story to their twin kids about what happened before they were born. Something to that degree. But I already planned out the prologue like 6 months ago roughly... almost a year even. God, it's been that long?

Anyway, I am pretty stoked about this:

At one of the recent GDC conferences, Suda51 of Grasshopper Manufacture gave a brief keynote about an upcoming event subtitled "Snake VS Zombie".

Essentially a party with live music (provided by such big names as Norihiko Hibino and Akira Yamaoka among others), this marks Grasshopper's second annual "HOPPER'S" event and boasts its two primary special guests, Hideo Kojima and Shinji Mikami (Biohazard / Resident Evil). What this means exactly remains to be seen, although it may fall in line with some of Kojima's previous interest in creating a zombie-related video game.

The event is planned for April 14 at Club Asia, and will start at 14:00 Tokyo time. For those interested in attending, tickets will be available for purchase on March 18 from the Grasshopper website.

YES! MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE! Hopefully. [/fangirl]

And, the funny webcomic post of the week:

Ah, the old 'if-the-game-is-acting-up-take-it-out-and-blow-on-it-and-put-it-back-in-trick'. Hey, still works to this very day.

Ok... so I got my braces off. It was a lot easier than I thought, but it just involved a lot of brushing. For some reason, it took me back, because it just felt like I was getting my teeth pulled or something. Not the lovely-ist thoughs, but that's what I really went to the dentist for. =\

My teeth looks so nice now that it's free of metal and it looks straight for the first time in ever. Growing up, my teeth were crooked and wonderful stuff... hell, if the dentist hadn't intervened, I probably still have my baby teeth. It had roots about the length of my nail, meaning that it would most likely not come out at all.

Of course, I have to wear a retainer. Here's the thing though. My mouth goes WTF FOREIGN OBJECT and I start to... salivate. It's not bad now, but at first, I had to constantly try not to... well, it's nasty. On top of that, it creates a severe lisp. I mean I sound like a deaf person, and my words are just slurred to hell. So, I pretty much solved that solution; just take off the top retainer. I still have one, but it's minute. I get to take them off anyway to drink, eat, and sleep. It's just weird [and anti-climatic] to suddenly feel my teeth again though. I can offically go back to eating all the things I used to... I did it with braces and somehow I only broke 2 brackets and a band. Go me?

I watched some of the new vids for GOLD, and so far I'm impressed. A few songs were like 'meh' but, for the most part, they're good. Now I can't wait for the GST and gamerips. Vanessa is one of those songs... The vid is kinda... wtfish. It's basically a portait with a bish (well, not a bish-bish, but with a hint of man) and I guess he is expressing his moods like >=[ and such. I'm guessing it's from Castlevania: Portiat of Ruin because at the end, about half of the picture is destroyed. I like the song though. And, along with the majority, WTF'd when Faxx is the OMES. Yeah. =|

Once again, I tried Endless Mode, this time on Supernova. I only got through 19 before I quit at... I wanna say Fly Away. I wanted to reach 20. I only got a 482 combo... I can't seem to pass the 500 mark anymore. There was twice that I reached the 1,000 mark, so of course I was still far off.

I like how the weather goes into Spring mode like immediately. It's been like 70s for the past 3 weeks, and before that it was like 40. Now I'm sort of confused. I'm telling ya, there's going to be a freak storm of the epic kind sometime soon. I can feel it. Bring it up here, and people'll say 'OMG 93'. Anyway, I also have a feeling we'll get a lot more severe weather, seeing that it's getting humid and there's the random front from hell around the corner. In fact, we're supposed to get some wicked storms tomorrow... which is Thursdays and I don't have class that day (go me!).

Speaking of, I pretty much had to debate whether or not I was going to drop math class. I've skipped since my first exam, and because of that I missed my second exam. Now, I thought 'ok, i'm so droppping this' until I re-read the syllabus. Basically. he'll take the 3 highest scores and average them twice with a different formula, and if you missed a exam, the final serves as a makeup. So, I pretty much failed the 1st, the final will be my makeup for my 2nd, and we have 2 more to go. If I pass with flying colors on all 3 of them, I have nothing to worry. The thing is, my disipline sucks because it's at 5 in the afternoon, and I have a 2 hour break before it on Mondays and Fridays.

I just need to raise my GPA to 2.2 or else I'm gonna in some serious trouble. I mean 'suspended for a full semester' type. Since I did the GAP, I have a 1.87 so, it doesn't take much to raise that I hope. Besides, I signed up for priority registration since I plan on being in band next semester (lots of pre-game.) Ah, the perks of being in band. It's like registering a full month before everyone does, which is awesome because all of the classes aren't full and you have a buffet. Being first in line so you can get that juicy steak you've been eyeing on since you walked in the door.

...hmm, steak. *drools*
